Starbucks Angel

Leg's tied together in bondage

Birdman of long beach:  The first photo is Starbuck's Angel and the reason for me writing this story. These Pigeons are not injured and are completely healed and have been released. These were the orginal rescue photo's before I rehabiliated them. Starbuck's Angel was released yesterday and I am sure he is back by Starbuck's and hopefully he found his mate. I am hoping if people realize how bad they need our help that more people will walk that extra mile to help them. So few people seem to realize that so many pigeons were decorated war hero's saving our troops lives and they truly deserve more respect than they get. They are one of the most sweetest and gentle and loving birds you would ever see. Starbuck's Angel got his name because I rescued him on the side of Starbucks downtown. He was one of my worst rescues ever because he lost all his toes that were so damaged from being tied with human hair. I figure for all of his toes to be that damaged his toes had to of been tied and tortured for a minimum of two years. He is one of my most exciting rescues because he did not only recover completely. I let him fly everyday in the bathroom getting his flying strength back. He was one of the strongest and healthiest pigeons I ever seen after living such a tortured life for what must have seemed like a lifetime to him. He actually could have gotton his feet tied in his own nesting material and maybe he lived his whole life tortured until I rescued him. Anyway I never seen a pigeon that I helped and gave them there life back have more of a zest for life than him.  He was so happy and excited about having a life again that it brought tears to my eyes and that is what inspired me to write this because it was such a happy story. I was so thrilled when I released him yesterday knowing how happy he was once again and living a life pain free. So if anyone around the Long Beach Ca. area finds a injured pigeon please contact me - animalrescuer131@yahoo.com - I have dedicated the last 8 years of my life rescuing and doctoring over 3,000 pigeons. I now have PayPal if anyone would be interested in donating to help with my rescue work. It gets pretty expensive considering we go out and feed cats every night also. A three pound bag of bird seed is only 99 cents and needed to be able to rescue the injured pigeons.
