It's been awhile since I posted a rescue story.  Today I was looking out my kitchen window and the German Shepherd from next door came running in my yard with a chicken in her mouth. I was 99 % sure the chicken was most likely dead. But I ran out to the yard and I was very surprised she did not run from me and let me take the chicken out of her mouth. I carried it inside and it was alive and I gave it water but had no idea if it had internal injuries or if it could even stand up. I put it in the bird cage I had from my pigeon that passed away and it was a miracle the chicken could stand and walk around. Its been a couple hours and I just checked on the chicken and it appears to be healthy and is walking around in the cage. I have no idea why the Shepherd did not hurt it once she had it in her mouth ( Truly a Miracle ) Now thats just what I needed, a pet chicken - Ha Ha Ha - I put lots of bird seed and dog & cat food in my driveway every day and keep a gallon of cold water for the many flocks of birds that come here daily and any dog or cat that is hungry or thirsty. The mexican guy behind me has chickens in his yard. Sometimes a few of them will show up here to get seed which worries me with the irresponsible woman next door always turning her German Shepherd to run loose. If anybody reading this lives around Dallas and would give the chicken a good home contact me - Danny - animalrescuer131@yahoo.com - 214 - 2721545 - Also if anybody has a injured pigeon around the Long Beach - Los Angelos California area contact me as I have a friend with Avaries with hundreds of permanently disabled pigeons who lives in Lomita outside of Long Beach that could probably help you.
