Wolf Mix Rescue

Published on: May 5th, 2015

I was telling a friend recently about one of my many rescues in Temecula California. I had a house next to Pechanga Casino for ten years from 1991 - 2001. We had the corner house so dogs had to get by me that got loose and I figure I rescued about 75 dogs during that time. One day I seen a German Shepherd run into somebodies yard. So I rescued him by the front door of the house and took him home. When I located the owners and took him home I said ( oops ) the Shepherd lived where I rescued him from. The owners were so grateful I did not have the heart or nerve to tell them the truth. But the rescue I am going to tell you about was a Wolf Mix. He looked so much like a Wolf that I believe he was a Wolf Mix. Anyway he was running frantically and scared in and out of traffic almost getting run over. I parked my pick up and went running after him. He gave me a run for my money but I was determined to rescue him. Finally he ran under a truck and I was able to pull him out and carry him to my pick up truck. Thinking back I must have been out of my mind and only God knows why he did not take a few chunks out of me and I guess he knew I was trying to help him. Everybody was trying to get out of the Casino parking lot and they were really upset with me tying up traffic and nobody could care less about the sweet scared dog. Another time next to a Burger King was a junk yard with two Pit Bulls guarding it. Well they got out of a hole in the fence and I felt like a young Marine again standing there with the two Pit Bulls in my hands using my belt as a leash looking at the property they were suppose to be protecting. I will tell some more of my rescue stories later on.
