Birdman of long beach:  This has been a strange couple months. Somebody kicked down a door at the church on the corner at the bottom of some steps. It remained like that for a couple days and I was really worried cats and other wildlife would get trapped in there when they paid some young guy to nail the door back up. I contacted Ted Stevens Mng. of Animal Control. He said sure enough thanks to me calling they got two cats out that were trapped and would have died a slow horrible death. Then I used a milk crate, string and a stick and rescued a sick feral Calico cat on our property and got her fixed. Then I rescued a beautiful domesticated tuxedo cat at Albertsons. Turned out she had a chip, was fixed, 3 years old and her name was Mia. The guy that owned her had no interest in getting her back so I think the creep dumped her. Then Marley from the church I have been taking care of for 5 years. For the second time he came to my door deathly sick and I got him well using the Batril Antibiotics I use on my pigeon patients and then with Laura Simpsons help Marley and the Calico got fixed. Well I guess saving him this second time made me his hero ( as he is sleeping in the bedroom with no desire to go out ) ha ha ha. Then in the past two weeks I rescued two pigeons with very tied toes by Albertsons downtown a block from Walmart. The first pigeon lost one very swollen toe and the second pigeon lost all four on one foot. I rescued him on  5/22/2013 and he is  99 percent healed today  5/28/2013  It is simply amazing how fast they heal once the dead tissue is removed, soaking them in a  50/50  water & peroxide solution and giving them 2 or 3 drops of 10 percent Batril Antibiotics twice a day for about a week.
