Walk Through Fire for Animals

Will You Walk Through Fire for Animals Too?

We’re raising funds to help Norica Prigoana in her epic journey of compassion for Romanian dogs and cats. Norica’s own small shelter of 50 dogs must relocate soon and there will be increased needs for the street dogs she cares for as winter approaches.

  • Shelter

Will You Walk Through Fire for Animals Too?

Here at the municipal shelter, Norica offers emotional comfort and food to dogs who are confined in this dreadful place. Each time a dog is adopted from Norica’s own shelter, she pulls another dog from this desolate place. Donations today will help Norica and the other heroes in the slides to follow.

  • Feeding a wolf

    Dejan Gačić Rescues Terrified Wolves

Dejan Gačić, a true wolf whisperer, rescues captive wolves caught up in the trade here in Serbia. Here you see Dejan trying to reassure a wolf who has just arrived at his humble rescue station after untold trauma and neglect. Hunters raise the wolves in captivity and profit from their death during paid hunts by foreigners who fly in to kill them.

    Dejan Gačić Rescues Terrified Wolves

We’re developing plans to create a wolf sanctuary here to offer a natural, permanent home to the wolves Dejan rescues and to also serve as a sorely needed education center to begin to raise public consciousness. Dejan also cares for 160 formerly abused dogs, and without our aid, he simply couldn’t feed them.

Vivienne Wharton Champions Prosecution for Animal Abusers

Vivienne Wharton is afraid, but she does her best not to show it. As a national organizer for the humane movement in Spain, she’s attempting to hold animal abusers accountable for their crimes for the first time. These legal cases will create a critical precedent to launch reform here, particularly in the case of hunting dogs who are brutally victimized at the end of the season when they cost too much to feed. The hardest part is that Vivienne is now under constant threat from the people she attempts to bring to justice.

  • Freckles and Alvin

Vivienne Wharton Champions Prosecution for Animal Abusers

Here you see a mother dog named Freckles nursing her newborn pups. Freckles’ lived on the property of a hunter who stopped feeding her and two others at the end of the season. The Harmony Fund reached out to Vivienne’s ACTIN association to pay for the care of this lovely mother and her pups who are now safe and growing strong.

  • Feeding Cats

Manuela Wroblewski Feeds Street Animals For 6 Hours a Day

Manuela Wroblewski is a street champion for cats and dogs who live on the streets of Avsallar, Turkey. She walks for 6 – 7 hours a day, delivering food to the hungry waifs. People shout at Manuela and thrown stones and spit at her. She is often afraid and ends her day in tears, but she refuses to give in. Through the kindness of Dr. Osman, a local veterinarian, many of the animals are being spayed/neutered.

  • Turkey Vet Room

Manuela Wroblewski Feeds Street Animals For 6 Hours a Day

This is known as “the cat room” at Dr. Osman’s clinic in Turkey. Here you see several of the cats Manuela has rescued recently. Each of them has been pre-adopted by a family overseas and is waiting for their departure date. The costs of this program are quite steep for the Harmony Fund each month, but the results are breathtaking.

  • Dogs Shower

Sasha Pecic Brings Food & Love to 400 Dogs

Even with all the washing to be done in this Serbian sanctuary for 400 dogs, Sasha Pecic finds time to lift the dogs’ spirits as well. A quick game with the hose brings joy to this Labrador mix.

  • Dog Pack

Sasha Pecic Brings Food & Love to 400 Dogs

Forget about rows of tiny kennels, the dogs here are allowed to move about freely and so often you’ll find huge numbers of them following Sasha’s every step. Now that’s one might shadow! Each month, the Harmony Fund sponsors food for the dogs here through the donations of our supporters.

  • Bottle Babies

Sarah Carter Protects Wild Ones Great & Small

Little baby Evelyn is a duiker and she simply can’t wait to taste the bottle Sarah is preparing for her. Hunger is one of the greatest fears any rescuer has, not for themselves, but for the animals who trust them. Donations to the Harmony Fund today will go directly to sponsoring these and other rescuers who are in urgent need and have demonstrated tremendous courage and effectiveness in their missions. Please consider making a charitable gift below today. THANK YOU & BLESS YOU.
