Those of you who have been with us for a while know that we are very eager to care for dogs living in extreme neglect at pounds in the Balkans. Yesterday, another delivery of food was provided to the pound at Piatra Neamt, Romania where our interventions are providing the basis of HOPE for so many dogs.
You may recognize Claudia Filip, rescuer extraordinaire who volunteers at the pound to bring comfort to the dogs. She and her husband X, spend a couple days a week at the pound where they clean, feed and comfort the dogs. The dogs eat from bowls, with dignity, as they should. They are pet and spoken to softly. The ground is cleaned. And fresh water is provided. These may be small gestures, but dogs are pulled out into the adoption program as often as there is space.
Within the next 5 years, we hope to launch significant reform measures for pounds like this one. These medieval pounds have no place in a modern world, and we are deeply grateful to all of you who are with us on this mission.
