They say that good things come in small packages, but sometimes they come in really big ones too!
Over the past 10 years, Sasha Pesic’s free-running dog sanctuary in Serbia has saved over 1,100 dogs, most who were living homelessly and in tremendous hunger. Many of the dogs have been adopted to good families over the years and today there are about 750 dogs in the pack in two improvised shelters. Sasha knows every dog by name, gives them over 8 hours of outdoor time a day, and has dedicated his life to keeping them happy, healthy and alive.
Love alone does not feed, vaccinate and provide infrastructure for these dogs. But that is where all of you come in. Each month, you pull together as one big family of animal lovers in order to send funds to care for the dogs here. We literally go through tons of dog food and the staff work all day to clean the grounds, give the dogs plenty of attention and to oversea any health issues that may arise. The dogs are given the best possible chance to enjoy their short lives and it is our greatest wish that many more of them will have adoptive families to welcome them home one day. We don’t even want to think of what would have had happened to these dogs were it not for all of you. We are grateful beyond all measure. Thank you.
